Introduction of BF Flat Sheet MBR Membrane

Flat Sheet MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) membranes are a type of membrane configuration used in wastewater treatment processes. Unlike hollow fiber membranes, flat sheet membranes have a planar or flat shape, resembling a sheet or film. They are widely employed in MBR systems for the separation of solids, microorganisms, and contaminants from wastewater.
Flat Sheet MBR membranes consist of a thin, flat membrane sheet made of materials such as polymeric substances. These membranes are typically arranged in a module or cassette, and multiple modules are installed in a tank or vessel for wastewater treatment.

Working

In a Flat Sheet MBR system, wastewater is introduced to the membrane module, and the flat sheet membranes act as a selective barrier. The wastewater is passed over the surface of the membrane sheets under pressure or vacuum. The membrane pores are small enough to prevent the passage of suspended solids, bacteria, and other contaminants while allowing treated water or permeate to pass through.
